I haven’t had a chance to share my experience about my 7-day, 7 lbs juice cleanse at Jason Vale’s Juicy Oasis in Portugal until now. My daughter and co-founder of The Juicery Co. had developed pre-eclampsia in her final month of pregnancy and her well being became my sole focus. Our first juicy baby, Mila Grace, was safely born on March 6th at 5lbs, we are so in love. Now that Alex and baby Mila are back to health, I am able to share my one-of-a-kind juice journey at Juicy Oasis in Portugal. I hope you enjoy!
I have done 3-day and 6-day cleanses in the past and have felt fantastic but my 7-day juice experience took my body and mind to a whole new level of wellness. My cousin and I arrived at Juicy Oasis after a night of food and wine in Portugal. I don’t recommend indulging in local cuisine the night before but we had traveled all the way from Vancouver and didn’t want to miss out on a night in Lisbon. We were already told by friends and family that we were crazy to travel all the way to Europe just to do a juice cleanse but had heard nothing but positive reviews of Jason Vale’s 7-day cleanse experience and had to try it out for ourselves.
Feeling slightly sluggish from our night, we were picked up in Lisbon the next morning and driven an hour and a half journey to the resort. We were welcomed with a fresh juice and shown to our very spacious, shared room overlooking a beautiful lake. After a short tour of the facilities and a review of schedules for the week, we were eager and excited to start our journey. Each morning started off with a power green or a ginger shot and a 6-10 km hike through the rolling hills surrounding the resort. The roads took us through small villages and eucalyptus groves. On return from the hike, we received our first and most deserved juice. Each day we chose to relax by the pool as the weather was spectacular. The rest of the day we attended various yoga, fitness, spin, and rebounding classes.
These classes were offered all day and with no pressure to attend. We also scheduled spa appointments, including colonics throughout the week. Evenings were spent watching documentaries that only reinforced our desire to maintain our healthy lifestyle. Freshly pressed juice was supplied 3 times a day and we spent the evenings sipping on warm soup while conversing with the other guests along the juice cleanse experience. There were guests from England, Scotland, Ireland, Switzerland, and Germany. Although my stomach sometimes rumbled when it came time for our daily juices, I never felt hungry or depleted of nutrients. By the end of the week, my cousin and I both felt renewed and revitalized and wish we could have stayed for another round. We both felt our energy soar, we felt lost a couple of stubborn lbs and we were loving the health and wellness routine we had developed. We were sad to leave but left with tools on how to continue once we got home. Luckily, we both have access to organic, cold-pressed juice when we returned.
The week felt like a full detox of body, mind, and spirit. I returned home feeling lighter and happier with a renewed focus of my health along with a desire to share what we had experienced with others. Juicing really is a great way to give your digestive system a break while consuming maximum amounts of nutrients and lightening up mentally and physically. I will be offering a supportive juice program as a perk to our three and five-day juice cleanses for this Spring and Summer. Let me know if you are interested in joining the supportive Juice Club or have any questions about our 7-day juice experience. Don’t hesitate to reach out, I am more than happy to help you along your juice cleanse journey.
To Your Health,
